Singapore : Part 1

23 December 2007

Singapore : Part 1

After leaving the cruise and the Harbourfront place, we went to Sentosa with the stupid tour group.

Boring.

Anyway, we went to the Sentosa Merlion first.

On the way to the Merlion, we saw a lot of weird and ugly things that lots of people are taking pictures with, who knows why.

I don't know. They might be creative, yes, with all the special stones and pebbles, but they don't really look like anything. Not until later we found out that they're creatures (I think) from the Merlion story.

We went and explore the insides of the Merlion, which was totally boring. See what happens when you follow a tour group?? But then we learned about the Merlion history, which, I guess, is a good thing. Or else we'll never solve the Mystery of the Pebble Ugly-Fuglies outside.

Last glimpse of the SuperStar Virgo!! See it?? SEE IT??!? If you don't, you're blind. Whatever.

Mouth Gallery view?? The things we saw were no big deal. Construction stuff. Poo.

Oh!! And I totally LOVE the buses at Sentosa. They're so pretty!! Hee hee.

Message to Ee Leng : You mind working as a bus driver?? =P

I like it!! Especially the pink one in the picture above. How I wish the buses here are that nice.

After that, we went and watch a Singapore Histories thing, which was totally boring. I'm not even really interested in our own country's history.

Actually, that's a lie.

The [really] word above should be cut out.

Because I really don't have any interest what-so-ever in our country's history.

And I'm sure all of my friends hate it too, even though they study for it a lot (like ME). We're forced to!! What can we do?? Fail every single history test??

After the boring history stuff, we went to the 4D Magix thing, which was totally cool. The show is about pirates, and the actor is no other than Leslie Nielsen, the Lieutenant Frank Drebin from the movie Naked Gun!! He's so funny. Most of the movies he acted in are hilarious. Ha ha. =)

I hate to admit it, but during the 4D show, there was a part where bees flew out of the screen (of course I'm wearing the glasses, duh), and because it was my first time, and the bees were the first part where something flew out of the screen, I tried to flick the bees away and hide from them, though I know very well that they're just an illusion or something. Thank goodness it's dark in there. Surely people will think I'm crazy, trying to hide from the imagination bees. =P

After that, thankfully, I never tried to hide and flick the bats and other things away. And the part I loved most is where they splash water over everyone in the theater when people in the show fell into the water. It feels great to have water splashing lightly over us. Then the part I hate most is the jerking of the chairs and the steam or gas or whatever the "shot" at your ears when something exciting happened in the show. The jerking of the chairs made me dizzy.

And then my cousin said there's a wire or something under the chairs, and when there's something crawling in the show, like lots and lots of spiders, the wire will try to tickle our feet. But I didn't feel anything. Maybe the wire below is spoiled. Or may be because my legs were crossed, they couldn't reach my feet. *shrugs*

Ha ha. I sure will never forget the stupid bees. :D

Okay lah. I'll admit another thing : One horrible part in the show, I just took off the glasses because I couldn't stand to watch the thing crawl out of the screen toward me.

I know I'm stupid.

:P

Hee Hee.

After that we had a buffet dinner at The Arches restaurant. At least, I think it's The Arches restaurant. I guess the food there isn't too bad, but I just miss the SuperStar Virgo buffet surroundings. I miss sitting beside the window and looking at the sea and the mini islands around.

We watched the Musical Fountain show - Song Of The Seas after dinner.

It's nice.

I mean the fountain parts anyway. Because, since when has the Musical Fountain turned into a bizzare cartoon show?? Last time I went to Singapore, the same thing happened.

But at least this time's cartoon character is cuter and nicer than the one last time. The one last time is totally ugly. And the story this time is way nicer than the last one. Not that I really remembered what the story was last time.

And the setting this time was cooler, too. It's right at one of the beaches at Sentosa. The fountain is in the sea itself. They built a village on top of the sea. Or maybe it's just an image. I don't know. But I think it's real.

I hate the people singing. They kept singing the same thing over and over again, then someone would appear. A girl. A spirit. A fish.

Volcano?? :) It does look like a volcano right?? Actually it's just water.

Musical Fountain. I especially love the third picture. It reminds me of something, but I don't know what. It's so pretty!! :D

There are lots of fireworks at the end. And I managed to get a few shots of them.

I love the second one. It looks like something out of a Disney movie right?? :)

One thing I dislike throughout the whole show :

The Singapore kids behind us are seriously noisy.

How did we know they're Singaporeans??

Because they know how to sing the Singapore song.

Unless if some crazy tourists go and learn how to sing it.

They kept shouting : "Oh!! There is someone in the village!! Ahh!! Oohh."

I know it's not wrong to talk and voice our thoughts, but, yell it out? I don't think it's necessary.

After we went on the bus, I found out that the camera was spoiled. The LCD was cracked.

Fuck.

Just the thing to spoil my holidays.

Fine. What's over, is over. No need to cry over spilt milk.

There are so many things to take pictures of, and I couldn't be bothered to put it in the pouch, then take it out, then put it in again, and after seconds, take it out again. And I don't like to hang it around my neck.

So the LCD was cracked. Probably by my stupid PowerPuff Girls thermos bottle given by my sixth aunt the day before we left for Singapore. Now the stupid bottle is probably in a huge pile of garbage, because the bottle was spoiled while I was in Singapore. Served it right.

I sound like I'm blaming the bottle hor??

=P

But now everything's fine, my mum took it to the shop for the people to repair it. It's quite cheap, RM200 something. I was so worried!! My elder brother said that maybe the price will be so high, that buying a new camera was worth more than repairing it.

Scared me, he did.

Because the camera's actual price is RM1000 something, and RM200 is nowhere near to RM1000.

Please pray that the camera will be fine when it comes back.

*

Okay. Now you can see why I said that the tour guide doesn't know what she's doing earlier.

We were supposed to go to Hotel 81 at first. My cousin in Singapore said it's a cheap hotel. Oh well.

But the tour guide changed plans, and planned to go to the Fragance Hotel (Pearl) in Geylang. My cousin said it's even worse than the Hotel 81. She said that the Fragance Hotel is a place where all prostitutes go. *gapes*

I hate to say it, but Geylang is just like Penang.

*

There were two buses actually, for this trip.

Our tour guide told us earlier that after we reached the hotel, we can go shopping and have supper at the shops and hawker stalls around.

Shopping and supper. Hah. Right.

The first bus reached the hotel very soon. Our bus, we turned round and round for like, one and a half hour, I think. Maybe more. We went past the Fragance Hotel for so many times, and either the bus driver didn't see it, or doesn't know how to go there.

If he didn't see it, he's stupid.

If he doesn't know how to go there, he's still stupid.

Not that I know how to go there either, but, I'm a tourist!! He's a bus driver, he should know how to go there. If he doesn't, the tour guide should know.

I lost count of the times we went past the same shops. I know because we went past a place where they sell condoms LOTS of times. And it's not hard to remember a place like that, honestly. There were so many hawker shops there, it's hard to remember their names.

*

Finally, we reached the stupid hotel.

Now I really miss the SuperStar Virgo toilets. The toilets there, tiny as they are, at least, make me comfortable. The one at the Fragance Hotel, I don't know what to say. It just feels sort of empty and . . . strange.

While I was bathing, I heard weird sounds coming from above the toilet. Looking up at the ceiling, I suddenly thought of the scene in the movie Silence Of The Lambs, where security guards opened the "hole" in the ceiling of the lift, and a dead, bloody body fell through the hole. Uggh. Horrible.

And there's exactly a square on the ceiling of the toilet that looks like they can be opened.

I ran straight out of the toilet after that.

*

Bed, bed. How welcoming it is.

Not.

Once I sat down, UGGH. The bed was really hard.

Damn it.

* Go Back *
