Laziness Part 3000
1 June 2011
Whoops. I haven't been updating again. Nothing has really been going on, I'm just lazy, as usual.
Anyway this will be just a long post with random photos, since I haven't finished editing the rest of the Macau photos (the horror! I'm probably the worst procrastinator, ever). Part of the reason for the delay is because there are SO many photos (and vain, self-loving, camwhoring ones at that) I don't know which one to upload, so I gave up trying to edit them! I'll resume sorting them out ... eventually. Hahha.
Okay. So recently (some weeks ago, haha) I found out that I got the JPA scholarship that I applied for. I chose the tourism course as it was the only non-science course available besides business. I like traveling and think 'travel journalist' sounds cool, but tourism was not exactly something I've considered. Oh, who cares. Great opportunity!
I got the scholarship to USA! But I'm stuck here for 2 more years, and I'll be leaving for Taylor's College in KL in around two months. Not looking forward to leaving the comforts of my home but it can't be helped. Sigh. Time to learn to be independent, to banish my procrastinating tendencies, exorcise my own demons (ie laziness LOL), learn to WASH MY OWN CLOTHES etc. Oh man.
Okay, photos!!
1. Went to Secret Recipe at Straits Quay for (allegedly) a Mother's Day celebration.
Chocolate brownie with ice cream
Carrot cake
We ordered around 6 slices of cake (not to worry, there were 7 of us, my maid included!) and these two were the tastiest, in my opinion.
The chocolate brownie is to die for. Slightly warm, with a thick layer of melted fudge all over it and a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. Yum. There are also tiny pieces of walnut (at least, I thought they were walnuts) in the brownie. Almost all of us agreed that this brownie is the nicest out of all the cakes we ordered.
And the carrot cake with that heavenly cream cheese on top ... how can anyone not like it? Haha. Okay, wait. My sister doesn't like it. Oh well, she always has had a peculiar taste that contradicts mine. For starters, she hates mushrooms. MUSHROOMS. Even those fragrant Chinese mushrooms!! *shrugs*
2. We went to Eastern and Oriental Hotel for a buffet lunch, at the Sarkie's Corner (I think). Also another (alleged) Mother's Day celebration. Haha.

Beautiful building, no?
Outfit of the day =.=
Sad to say the food there wasn't that great, except for a very few dishes. The adults particularly loved the lobster, but since, you know, the meat portion of the lobster is so ridiculously tiny, they had to go for the lobsters again and again until even my normally un-embarrass-able dad started to feel embarrassed about having to go back for more. Hahaha.
The macarons were extremely horrible, completely unlike the ones I had in Macau, which - I think I have mentioned before - were overwhelmingly sweet but still tasty. Whereas these ones were, yes, also overwhelmingly sweet but absolutely revolting. Not surprisingly, my sister's first impression of macarons aren't good.
The first time I had macarons was in Singapore, Ee Leng introduced them to me, and I liked them! I've seen them often in photographs (all those pastel rainbow colours, so pleasing to the eye :P) but have never tried them before that.
There was this dessert called the Ivory Cake, which was a bitch to cut, but totally delicious. All light, sweet fresh cream and soft sponge cake. At least, that was what I thought they were.
I guess the buffet was good in terms of variety, but not so good in terms of tastiness. The ambience is good though! Can see the sea through the white-paned windows. Unfortunately it was a very gloomy, misty day that day, with a slight drizzle. Not great for photos! :(
3. Photos of MILLIGY aka the soft toy everyone loves! :)
Enjoying a piece of nangka :P
Ooh, look, a shrimp! :D
My sister and I went shrimp-ing (shrimp equivalent of fishing) at the river in botanical garden some time ago. I took some photos, but I won't post them now. Maybe in the next random-photos post!
On top of the world haha
4. Acquired a new ladybug for my ever-expanding ladybug family.
See the smallest one? Just bought it a few days ago at S&J. It's actually a ring box (SO CUTE!! I definitely want one of these when somebody proposes to me one day, haha). Cuteeeee. And the ladybugs in the above picture are all from the same family! Hahah. Shit I'm so childish. =.=
5. The Chinese Orchestra competition held on the day before yesterday.
My high school got the 'highest' gold prize or whatever it is called in English! So proud. Haha. Even though ... hmm. Never mind. Schools from all over Malaysia joined this competition, so it was QUITE competitive. So proud! It was a very fun, but exhausting day. Went to help out in the afternoon, was kind of chaotic backstage. Horror. New experience though! :)
Photo taken from Facebook
Look, that's meeee!! Hahaha I look weird and fat. And downright grumpy. Oh well. Hahaha. Not sure whether this photo was taken during the finals at night or in the morning. If it was taken in the morning, then my grumpiness is explicable. :P
华联国中
In my opinion, they were the best out of all the competing schools. :) They practised quite hard I guess. While everyone was chilling, relaxing and watching the competition inside the hall they were all outside (I assume because they didn't buy tickets, and didn't want to), practising. Well, they got what they deserve!!!
Christy and Jamie from Union High School!
Awesome, super amiable, crazy people, hahahah. Love them both! :P
My furry handphone pouch haha
Okay. End of this random post! Will post another one soon, I have quite a lot of random photos 'accumulated' in my handphone.
Oh by the way, my parents and sister just left for China this morning and I'm all alone at home. Fine, not completely alone. But still! Transportation problems. Sigh. =.= DRIVING LESSON TOMORROW AGAIN. DREADING IT. :(
