Err. Mushroom ... Expedition?
23 April 2010
Photos, at last!
I went to Pantai Kerachut with my family last Sunday.
My first trip to Pantai Kerachut was in 2008, and it was a trip organised by a school club. Saw loads of interesting things, like a gorgeous purple mushroom, fronds of green and yellow seaweed, and loads more.
The second time I went, it was in 2009. It was raining, and it was very damp and misty. We had to hike with umbrellas, which was hilarious. And irritating. LOL. Went trampling in the mud (which was supposed to be the UNIQUE meromictic lake), probably squashed thousands of tiny crabs in the process. Sank almost knee-deep into the mud, it was such an icky feeling. But it was FUN. Saw a giant jellyfish washed ashore. Saw a large centipede. Also a lot of things.
I've GOT to post a photo of the purple mushroom again. It's so pretty, and I have never seen a mushroom like that before! I have only seen the likes of ... err, button mushrooms, enoki mushrooms .... uh, to put it in other words, the EDIBLE ones.

Neh! Pretty?
Actually we saw many purple mushrooms this time too! Except that it was because they were mouldy that they turned purple. Not naturally purple. If you get what I mean.
Okay. PHOTOS! :)

Witnessed an idyllic sunrise.
Photo taken from the car, so. Not of the best quality.
We reached the place too early, and the guard told us that we could only start hiking after 8. So we went to the filthy, muddy beach and explored.

Hard to believe mud flats could look so beautiful, eh?

MINI KRAKEN! Hahaha.
There were three of these mini octopuses on the beach.
My brother's caption for this photo was : "Sashimi, anyone?" :P

Physics sucks. And I suck in Physics.

Totally LOVE the backdrop for this. So ... picturesque.

I took this photo.

My sister took this photo. MAJOR FAIL OKAY!
Alright, it's not that bad. I just really hate the "pillar" at the side.

My brother took this photo.
I still like the one I took of him better. Bah. Hahaha. Getting smug, are we.

VAIN LEH! Hahahaha.
On a completely irrelevant note, I found this adorable photo on Facebook where a cat was hugging an Elmo toy. DAMN CUTE.

Okay, so they're technically NOT seashells. They're actually hermit crabs. I think. So pretty right! Like colourful pebbles.

SO MANY PRETTY SHELLS! Fine, fine. Only one of them is pretty. But! I hope they grow up. Into the size of ... say, both your palms. Then we'll catch them and have them made into instruments. Yay. :)

Cute spiral plant! Forgot what it's called. Sorry for the lousy photo quality. Guess I was too tired.
(IT'S RELEVANT.)

Looks like a white-coloured Amanita mushroom! You know, the poisonous blood red mushrooms with the white "spots"? Like in ... Alice in Wonderland? Toadstools?
It's SO SO SO pretty. A bit scary (especially if you stare at those bulgy pebble-like THINGS on it), but still. I like it! It's very big. Okay, not VERY, but still quite big.
I'm feeling a bit sleepy now. I guess you can tell. I'm starting to talk in ... circles. Something.

Nah, my "ARTISTIC" shot. LOL.

We reached the beach AT LONG LAST. Part of it was my fault as I ... err, misguided them. Not entirely my fault too lah! Was just following the trail I used in 2008. Haha.

Unknown creature. Hahaha. Looks like a cross between a beetle, a cockroach, a grasshopper ... what else?

We climbed onto the rocks, over to the other side. To EXPLORE.

Crabs for breakfast, anyone? Hahaha.
Don't worry, they're dead. I think it's the shell or something. My cousin told me that. Not sure.

LOOK! The crab floats. LOL. It was damn stupid.
See the freaky fish? Well, my brother threw his "crab" into the pool to try to make the fish get out from under the rocks, but he missed. Then I tried to throw mine in. At first, I just lowered the crab slowly but then ... how to describe it? Bouyancy? Pressure? The legs kept ... you know when like poles of magnets repel? That "feeling" was what I experienced.
So I tried to throw the crab in like my brother did, and it FLOATED instead. =.= Stupid crab. And the fish didn't move a single inch. Gah. In the end, I just pluck one of those shells (balidong or something) in the pool and threw it at the fish, and ....

There you have it. The freaky fish. WTF. Don't ask me why I describe everything as "freaky".
It's eyes are green. Scary eh. Actually I think it's EYE. I think it's yellow or orange on the other side. Heh. Fascinating thing. Like a lionfish. You know, the purplish, bluish, reddish, spotty, frilly saltwater fish! That looks like a lion?
LOL. Sorry. I know I'm being lame. I sound like I'm drunk. I almost feel as if I'm drunk, I'm so happy. For what reason, I don't know. Probably for watching the Big Bang funny videos. Had me smiling for ages. Hahahahaha.

Sorry. Can't resist. I look like I have eyeliner on.
But I SUPER hate my hair. Hahaha.

Look at the eyes, they're so cute. Heh. Saw this little fella in the lake.

JELLYFISH! People still dared to bathe in the sea. Wah. Scary.
Guess what we saw during our "return journey" to where we started the hike?

:(
The pretty white freaky mushroom!!!! I guess somebody kicked it. I like kicking mushrooms too actually. So does my sister. Who doesn't? Hahaha. But it was such an unusual mushroom! How could people just kick it like that! Argh.
Okay. Post ends here. Going to ogle hot guys now. BIG BANG! <3>
