Photos! :)

5 March 2010

SUPER LONG POST AHEAD! As usual!

Deluge of photos here. Be prepared! Hahaha.

But of course, I must ramble a bit first! Wouldn't be ME otherwise.

So! This is a pretty exciting time for PCGHS girls. The jumble sales! Kind of fun. Hot, crowded, insufficient food ... but yeah, still bearable. We get to miss classes, that's the most important thing!

Have I mentioned that the tests are coming soon, and I'm going to Cameron Highlands during the holidays? I bet I have. Hahaha.

And HAVE I mentioned that my dad, my sister and her friends are going off to Sabah this Sunday? And that my brother, his girlfriend, my dad (and possibly my sister) are going off to China in May? And that my parents are going off to PARIS in June?

AND MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL, THAT I HAVE TO FREAKING STAY AT HOME, ROT, TRY TO STUDY AND DREAM ABOUT THE FIRST EVER TIME I COULD STEP ONTO A PLANE?! (yes I have never been on a plane before. WTF.)

China? Paris? And I'm going to boring Cameron Highlands. But I guess it's okay, because it'd be a great escape from the awful heat here, and there are strawberries, pretty flowers, and all. Better than nothing. Hahahaha.

I'm fantasising about the days after SPM. Where to travel to. I'm aiming for JAPAN. Crazy, I know. But it's not crazier than aiming for Paris, New York, London, or Italy, right? Anyway. If I were to visit Japan one day, I'd do it during April, when the sakuras would be in full blossom. SO PRETTY.

My mom has always wanted to go to Japan. But unfortunately she has to work. Doesn't matter, because she's going to PARIS this June anyway.

Right. End of rambling. Photos now! Err, enjoy?

I'm going to skip the Chinese New Year (as in the first few days of it) photos, for now! Going to post photos of other stuff first. Like the I-still-don't-remember-what-it's-called-in-English 庙会.
Cultural something heritage something.

20 February 2010

Had a performance at Dewan Sri Pinang in the morning, for the Solo Art Exhibition of I-don't-know-what-the-artist's-name-is, Lee something. Pro guy!

Listened to a guy droning on and on about some irrelevant stuff during his speech. Was SO bored. He wasn't even the limelight of this exhibition, the ARTIST was. And the artist gave a considerably shorter and sweeter speech than that guy. Eeergh.

Went to the 庙会 at night!

Here are some of his paintings :

Exquisite, eh? But I swear the photos I took didn't do the paintings ANY justice.

All the paintings looked so real, just like photographs. And the girl in the last photo's eyes! Kind of scary. And you know what? Yi Ling and my mommy said that the girl's eyes look like mine. MINE.

Hahaha. Something must be wrong with theirs. LOL.

龙腾虎跃!

We had such a hard time trying to go through this doorway/arch/whatever you call it. Because some inconsiderate people were blocking the way, trying to take photos with the people in the tiger costumes. Standing right there, in the middle of the road.

If it was one person or two, I wouldn't have minded. But it was a whole freaking PACK of people. Errgh.

Frankly, those people in animal costumes look HIDEOUS. But the kids love them. I don't recall myself going crazy over those furry things when I was a kid though. Didn't even want to go near them, let alone shake their hands, hug them and take photos with them. Eeeew.

I prefer the ones in the food costumes. Like a hotdog, or a carrot. Hahaha. They look cuter, somehow.

(I'm babbling again, sorry! *sheepish smile*)

I like this photo, because my surname is there! All the flags were ... err, kind of tangled up and there it was, the mighty TAN flag in all its glory, flapping in the (non-existent) breeze!

The magnificent Khoo Kongsi.

(I know I look weird. Must be the hair, WTF)

(And I know my sister looks weird too, with her Digi fan. Who did she think she was, some princess from Japan? Hahahaha. Okay. Not funny.)

My sister said this photo looked like it was taken in China. Err. Maybe not.

NAH! THE UBER-CUTE ANGMOH! So cute! I love his hair colour and his hairstyle. And his blue, blue eyes. His smooth, lightly-tanned skin. And you know what? I sound like a disgusting, disgusting ... paedophile? LOL. No. NOOOOOO. Yuck.

But really, he is so gorgeous! Like I said I cannot imagine how he would look like when he's grown-up. Must be hot. :)

And I'm so sorry I stalked him like that. Okay. That's not true. I saw him three times during the 庙会! Ahh, fate.

*dreamy sigh*

*coughs and splatters*

HAHAHA. He was wearing adorable Chinese clothes. OMFG. So, I met him three times and I fell in love with him, and tried to take photos of him. LOL. He was with some other equally cute kids too, with gorgeous curly hair! But I still like him the most. Hahahaha. I'm crazy. Sorry.

MY CUTEST EVER COUSIN!!!!!

He had a puff of cotton candy stuck to his lips, aww. He was a bit sceptical about the cotton candy at first, but once the cotton candy touched his lips and melted on his tongue, he smiled! SO FREAKING ADORABLE!!!!

Chinese Orchestra performance by the CL(P)HS students. 龙腾虎跃!

Khoo Kongsi at night. Pretty! :)

Some of the stuff sold at one of the streets. We bought one of the brooches (photo on top) for my mom. She said it was pretty - with all the lace, beads and flowers - except for the fact that it had a square shape. I thought the same thing. I mean, would YOU pin such a square thing on your clothes? No right.

I also bought a cute pouch (that I don't plan to use) at the same stall.

AND the watermelon bag! So cute right. Hahahaha.

OKAY FINE. I CUT OFF THE OTHER HALF OF THIS POST, BECAUSE I THINK THIS POST IS REALLY, REALLY TOO LONG. LASTS MORE THAN HALF THE PAGE. SIAO. POST IT SOME OTHER DAY! :)

(Sorry for the capital letters, haha.)

Going to bed soon! Have CO practice tomorrow, and going to Rumi's house afterward. Yay! :)

craving chocolate kisses ..
