10 December 2009

SCROLL DOOOOOWN FOR THE PHOTOS.
(like you don't know that already *yawns*)

I know, I know. This post is way overdue. The performance was last Saturday. Yes, I already uploaded most of the photos in Facebook. And yes, I know you are probably aware of that.

And you know I'm going to say "oh, it doesn't matter, you can admire our pretty faces again".

And you'd be right! :D

Hmm. What to say about the wedding? It was an interracial marriage. Guy was an angmoh from God knows where, couldn't quite place all those heavy accents, and the girl a Chinese, I think.

The room was ornately decorated in white and gold, softly illuminated by glittering chandeliers and flickering candles. On the table were small white pots overflowing with pale pink roses, boxes tied with pink ribbons as gifts to the guests (or it could just be cake *shrugs*), and rosy beige napkins shaped into ... well, shapes.

Our performance was pretty horrible, compared to our first performance at the Penang Fisherman's Wharf. I guess we were all exhausted, because we woke up early in the morning, and went to school for our ordinary CO practice.

We started playing quite early, at 7.30 p.m, when the guests started to arrive. And we ended at around 11 p.m, with only a short rest interval (15 minutes) in between. Of course we also rested for awhile during the speeches, food presentations and stuff, but that didn't exactly count. Right?

We had stiff necks and legs, our back and arms ached. Our minds turned blur. There was the time when we were supposed to repeat a certain part of the song, but all five of us erhu players stopped together and forgot to continue. Without planning to. It was hilarious, made us all crack up, even now, almost a week after the performance.

Hmm. The wedding couple was SUPPOSED to arrive at 8 p.m. But you know. They are always late.

And that, is part of the reason why I used to hate attending weddings. I haven't been to one (as a guest) for ... I don't know. Years, probably.

I was almost always starving, and couldn't wait until the food arrived. But the wedding couples were always late, so dinner was ALWAYS delayed. That pissed me off, so I stopped attending weddings with my parents.

(Not that my company was specially requested or my presence very important or anything lah ha-ha)

Well, I'm older now! More ... err, mature, to care about the other stuff than just food (you know. Like the bride's wedding gown and the ballroom decorations *coughs*). BUT I am sure many of you went to/go to weddings just for the food. Hahaha.

Eh actually I'm not making sense. This isn't the actual wedding I'm talking about right. Just the reception, so of course it's about the food. Cheh. Stupid.

BUT! I have always loved the YAMMMMM~ SENGGGGGGGG! part of a wedding. Hahaha. Us performers also yelled and screamed along with the guests like mad, like we actually knew the couple or something. Boooo. But it was fun! :D

Okay. Here are the photos! Sorry, couldn't help babbling. It's in my nature.

Wedding couple

So pretty!

EXCEPT for the ugly, practically blinding green light at the corners of the room, right where the plants are. Blargh.

Chiew Na & I

I love this photo! Sort of ... vintage-y? I don't know the word. Like how the chandeliers stand out! Thank you, editing program!

Hsieh Ying, Chiew Na & I

WTF I am so short. SO SHORT. Unfair.

I was wearing 3.5 inches high heels okay? And Chiew Na, who would still be taller than me in her bare feet, also wore bloody 3.5 inches heels.

Are they purposely trying to make me feel short, reduce my self-esteem, become less confident, etc? Booooo. Hahaha. Kidding.

Chiew Na seemed to be pretty fond of those (in my opinion, hideous) red shells, because she kept camwhoring with them. Haha. Sort of unusual, seeing her being such a narcissist.

Everyone said that her sudden self-love was influenced by me. MOI.

WHY NOT HSIEH YING HUH?! Unfair. She's easily (maybe even more so) as self-loving as me. Hrrumph.

Exquisite snowflake paintings, hung all the way down the hall.

Coincidence or what! There are zhun3 zhun3 12 snowflakes in each painting. And including Lai Sheng, there are 12 of us in total! Wheeeee.

The simple, but pretty nevertheless, wedding cake.

Do we look like we are standing in a sea of writhing snakes/worms/TAPEWORMS omfg?

Hmm. Guess not.

Yi Ling & I

MY HAIR. T__T

Anyway. I have said it before and I'll say it 10 thousand times again : I LOVE MY PURPLE BAG! Such a gorgeous, regal colour.

Wahaha. Suitable for royalty. Ahem.

One and only proper group (and not even all of us are in the photo*sad*) photo with Lai Sheng!!

Psst. He looks short. HAHAHA.

Pei Jia

Munching happily (I guess) on tuna bread.

PEI JIA, IF YOU SEE THIS, DO NOT KILL ME. DO NOT KILL ME. DO NOT KILL MEEE.

Swimming pool

Wei-ying & I

Her lips are painted such a startling shade of red. Haha.

(EH. How cool is her name? Got dash in the middle somemore! Imagine. Tan-juan. SO COOL!!!!)

Chiew Na looks nice here!

Here Lai Sheng was, trying to tell us what to do and what not to do during the performance, and we camwhored with him. Hahaha.

*rolls eyes*

He looks like he's trying to escape from us, so cute! xD

I LOVE THIS PHOTO!!!! ♥

Love how everyone was smiling at the camera, and Lai Sheng kept on talking anyway, completely oblivious (or he purposely ignored it) to the fact that Jhing Huey was taking a photo of all of us. Haha.

Yi Ling, without a speck of makeup on. Except a thin layer of blue mascara. Which didn't really count.

Photo stolen GRABBED from Pei Jia's blog.

She said it's a nice photo (if I am not mistaken). She looks nice, no denying that. BUT OMG look at me. HAHAHA. My eyebags! Gosh, I look OLD.

AND. I just promised myself I'd sleep early today. But since it's 11.57 p.m. now, and I still have a lot of photos to upload ... guess it's not going to happen. Again. Fuck.

Yeah, I'll probably look 4 times older than I actually am in a few weeks. Boo.

Look at the sunset, how breathtaking! Sort of romantic, actually. Hahaha. And the beach is pretty nice, for ... err, for our normal standards. Heh.

Second photo reminds me of the shadows and flames of Mordor, looming over the mountains, watched from Minas Tirith. Only less threatening and scary.

(Those who watched Lord of the Rings 1000 times should know)

Shiwei & I

Me & Ah Sam No.2

I love the four photos above too! Why? Because I look nice, no other reason why. LOL.

I think the left side of my face looks better. Kind of thinner. Maybe.

BUT! It's a bit hard when I take self-shots (if that's what they're called), because I have to use my right hand. My left hand is ... uh, sort of ... unstable and wobbly, prone to trembling, and thus resulting in blurry photos (sometimes).

Mummy & I

Me & Ah Sam No.3

Richard & I

I look horrible here. Hahaha. But she looks nicer here, compared to the other one which I uploaded in Facebook.

(Yes, I am implying that you should take a look at the other photo in which I LOOK A BIT BETTER.)

The mighty Richard! :)

HAHAHA. Sorry.

I (and my family) have very, very, very broad shoulders. Yi Ling, no way you can compete with me. Shoo.

I like the toilet, it's pretty! :)

But not a good place to camwhore in because of the low lighting. Sigh. I suppose that was the reason why I found the toilet pretty. Maybe it was too dark for me to ... err, detect its ... flaws?

My eye!

Green contact lenses. Not very ... conspicuous eh. Oh, and ignore my lousily-curled lashes and equally-lousily-applied mascara. Bah.

Sauron's eye!! Hahaha.

(Those who watch Lord of the Rings should know.)

Couldn't resist camwhoring a bit more when I got home. Haha. Typical.

And don't laugh, I know I look horrible without the fringe to cover my enormous forehead (shows that I have big brains and am clever! Yes!), but honestly. My fringe SUCKS. Too long, and messy. Arrgh.

I feel sorely tempted to cut them off with the scissors, sometimes. EERRGH. Irritating.

Here's everyone's favourite tortoise Lai Lai! I drew him, in MSN. Not an easy feat, I tell you.

Yi Ling and Jhing Huey drew him too. Won't post it up here, as I feel too lazy (and sleepy) to copy them from Facebook. Zzzz.

Okay. Time for bed. Goodnight! :D
