Teachers ... *scoffs*
15 February 2009
Forgot to mention something yesterday.
After I fell down, I went to ask this teacher whether she has tissues or not. I told her I fell down, and I needed tissues to wipe off the dirt and blood.
She did give me her packet of tissues (only one tissue left, but still a tissue nevertheless), and then guess what she said?
Our conversation, roughly translated from Chinese to English :
Teacher : "Aiyo, you fell down ah! What house are you in?"
Me : "Green."
Teacher : "Huh! That's my house! One of my girls, that's terrible!"
(Her tone obviously indicated that she was more worried about the marks. I could have died, and she'd only mourn and wail about the loss of one mark.)
Me : *pissed* "I did get the mark okay?"
Teacher : "See, you all like to fool around and play play play, then? You fell down."
WHAT THE FUCK. Did she think I actually fell down because I was fooling around? Did she think I fell down on purpose? How amusing. Throw myself onto the floor and get myself injured on purpose. She must be nuts. Did she think I felt good after enduring such mortification? HUH?
While Rui Mei accompanied me to clean and bandage my wounds, the rest of our group went off to another place for another sport. Later, the both of us saw another one of our house teachers.
When she saw us, she said :
"Eh, the both of you who did not participate in the __ activity just now, quickly do it now, get the marks for our house."
There goes the marks again.
Did it even occur to her that I MIGHT NOT be able to participate in that sport? Damn.
That is our school. They don't really care about the students. What they genuinely care about is their own image, their own glory. Marks. It is always about marks. Exams. Demerit marks. Everything.
They said they are glad that so many people got 8A's in the PMR last year. Were they really happy for us? Nah. I don't think so. They were probably mirthful because the excellent results are good for our school's image. WTF.
Blaaaah. I hate this place.
