-CNY 2009 -
LONG POST AHEAD!!!
25 January 2009

Reunion dinner. It was so boring.
At least it was a sumptuous meal!
But the button mushrooms were missing. There were considerably less mushrooms than last year! Gah. See, I told you this year's Chinese New Year sucked.
Oh, did I mention that there wasn't a chocolate fountain this year too?
26 January 2009
Went to visit many cousins I don't know. They might as well be complete strangers.
It seemed so insincere! We greeted them all with cheerful "Happy Chinese New Years and Gong Xi Fa Cais!", and then we got angpows. After that, we sat down, watched the TV, played with Ee Leng's iTouch, talked among ourselves instead of with said unknown cousins, snacked on the assortment of crackers and tidbits laid out on the tables ... and then we left, just like that, with hasty goodbyes, like we couldn't wait to get out of that place. Which we really couldn't. At least, I couldn't.
Sigh, it was like we were just visiting all the cousins to get angpows and steal their food. (which is, in a way, true) Insincere, indeed.
Slept for the whole afternoon, then after dinner, we went to Gurney Drive. For ... certain reasons. It is a tradition!
And buying Coffee Bean was sort of a tradition too, until this year. Poooh.

Ee Leng & I
My whole body looks distorted. Weird.

My sister, Ligo, Ee Leng & I
His real name is Li Hong but we called him Ligo (of the Ligo Raisins :P) sometimes when we were young, and the name stuck.
Anyway, he was trying to imitate a cripple in a wheelchair, and obviously, as you can see, he failed. xD
Oh, I was wearing my pretty white wedges with the lace-up ribbons!! Yes, the pair that my sister "accidentally" stepped on. Pffft.

27 January 2009
Went hiking in the morning.
Went to another cousin's (cousins I actually know) house in the afternoon.
Went to watch Inkheart at Gurney at night.
Went to Sushi King after the movie.

Now, that, is something truly bad for the environment. Look at all the yellowish-black smoke! Almost suffocated. And almost lost my ability to hear things. It was deafening and the ... what, remnants? of the crackers flew everywhere, hitting us on our heads, legs, hands ....

Ee Leng, my sister & I
Ah, perfect evidence that we are all gluttons.
28 January 2009
Lazed around in the house for the whole morning and half of the afternoon.
Went to yet another cousin's house for a BBQ party.
Helped them cook the sauces for the pasta. It was fun!

Poor mushroom ready for slaughter ...
And the slaughtered mushrooms ...

Oh, I killed my baby mushroom. Aww.

The adorably-shaped pasta (lions, I think they were)

Ripples flip-flops
Cute, aren't they? I love Ripples!

My cousins' garden

Nah. My dream house~
Looks like something straight out of The Sims right?

Fifi the Poodle

Couldn't resist the urge to camwhore, sorry. Hahahaa. Vain people never could.

My cousins and I
Like I said, I never knew that fireworks (if those are qualified as fireworks, that is) can give me such satisfaction! They are so pretty the way they sizzle and sparkle ...

I like these photos!
Besides those small, lousy (but nice) fireworks, there was also the big, loud and expensive kind ...
Did not take any photos, just recorded a video, and I haven't uploaded the video yet, and I don't plan to upload it anyway.
The video is of terribly quality, because you can hear me shouting about how freaking loud the fireworks were. My cousin bluffed me! He said it's not loud. Gah.
So I was shouting, and at the same time I was stepping backward to get a nicer view (footage, is that called? *shrugs*) of the fireworks, and instead I backed straight into a stupid chair. So for a few seconds, I only managed to get the "shooting" of the fireworks into the frame (whatever it is called), instead of the "bursting" of the fireworks, if you know what I mean.
Well, I print screened the fireworks from the video, here they are!!

They are sooo gorgeous, are they not! I especially love the blue and gold one. And the right-hand corner one. It's nicer in the video, where it sort of ... dissolved and sparkled at the same time. Blah, it's indescribable.

The failed ones. LOL. =)
29 January 2009
Went to Queensbay with Hui Min.
Queensbay is kind of boring! Such a dead, dead place. Whereas Gurney is so warm and welcoming ; all the shops seem to beckon invitingly for you to enter and have a look around.

Caramel Hot Chocolate
Couldn't drink cold beverages, so ordered this instead. It's sweet and foamy, I like it!

Hair was weird. =.=

I look so weird in the second photo. :S
Anyway. I bought some books at Borders. The total was RM94.20.
Damn. It was so long ago and I can still remember the number.
Oh, I chose books with nice covers! x)

Little Black Dress Books
I am well aware that these books are available in the school library, but I'd rather buy them myself than borrow them.
Let's just say, the conditions of the library books are ... not that good. Even though those books are still new. Just wait, maybe after a few weeks they won't be that good anymore.

Now this is a book with a pretty cover! Front and back!
But nothing beats the Gossip Girl covers, especially the prequel one. =D

Not only is it pretty on the outside, it is pretty on the inside too! I LIKE! Reminds me of children's books.
I haven't read the book yet, and I don't really know what it's about. Something about fashion, I think.
2 February 2009
Went to Jane's house for the ... Tian Gong thing. Don't know what it's called in English.
My sister and I go there every year (we don't do this kind of thing at home). We used to just stay there until 1 or 2 o'clock, and then walk back home. But since we moved houses, we stayed over at her house! =)

Fireworks!

There. Two yucky photos of myself to end the post! (Gosh the second one is like reallyyy yucky. Eew.)
Okay! Ta! :D
