Singapore : Part 2

24 November 2007

We visited the Singapore Zoo in the morning after breakfast. We had breakfast at one of the many shops around the stupid Fragance Hotel (pearl).

That was the first time I had 板面!!

I like it!! I'm addicted. Kind of. =P

Maybe it's because it was my first time, but it tasted nice, nicer than all the other ones I ate later on during my days at Singapore. At first I was going to eat Tom Yam Chicken Noodles, but the person said they didn't sell it. I was turned off by all the other food on the boards, because in each of the picture, there are two huge prawns in the noodles. I hate prawns. Huge prawns anyway.

Actually, I don't hate prawns. Only sometimes. Give me mini prawns in the superb curry sauce my mom cooks, I'd devour it all. Give me mini prawns in some other veggie dishes, I wouldn't even look at it. Big prawns are a turn-off to me because the shell is so hard to pluck. I'd end up with really dirty hands, and I'd waste a whole half of the prawn because I always give up before I finish plucking off it's shell.

Turned out that the Singapore Zoo was no big deal. Not a VERY big deal anyway.

But there are a few things there that we couldn't see here in Penang, whether it's the Penang Zoo or not.

We saw Polar Bears. Okay, Polar Bear. Singular.

It was so CUTE!! But it's quite dirty. Oh, how I'd love to stroke it's fur, and let it bite off my jaw, just like how the polar bear Iorek Byrnison in the movie The Golden Compass broke off the jaw of Ragnar the enemy polar bear just with one strong "slap" from his cute paw. Ouch. (watched the movie on 13th December)

Couldn't take any pictures because the camera was spoiled. Damn it.

We watched a sea lion show later. By the time we reached the show place, it was REALLY crowded. No more seats. So we stood, right in front of the pool where the sea lion is going to do whatever it's going to do. The MC told us that we'll possibly be splashed with water. Uh-oh.

Hah!!

Nothing can faze us.

We got free umbrellas at Sentosa yesterday, so we all opened it, and when the nasty black sea lion spun round and round and splashed us all with water, we all covered ourselves with the umbrella!!! How I laughed at the other people who got wet. Mwahaha. xD

We went and watched the elephant show, too. It was a waste of time!! Because it was totally boring, and we left halfway through the show. The elephants are damn . . . SLOW-MOTIONED!! We have to wait for minutes for it to finally move forward a few steps. Maybe they're too heavy.
And it was boring, they only pulled logs, pushed logs, blah blah blah.

We were so tired because we have to walk long distances in the Zoo, so we couldn't enjoy watching the animals and stuff, because, if you want to watch, you have to walk. Damn it. All we could focus on is to reach the tram station, to get on the trams, and get the hell out of the zoo.

Haaah!!

Finally we left the beastly Zoo. Anyone who wants to exercise AND enjoy yourself at the same time, I suggest you to go to the Singapore Zoo!! You have to walk a lot, then you can look at the animals at the same time. Of course you can still get on the trams, but if you get on the trams, no animals for you to see. The trams just drive you around. You can't really see anything except trees and more trees, people, and at one part, beautiful sceneries.

The tour group was going home after that. We didn't follow them, because we wanted to stay at Singapore for a few more days. Yay!! Ditched (okay, not really DITCH) the tour guide and the stupid bus, finally.

HAHA. I'm very happy.

After that, we met up with Ee Leng!!!!

She suddenly jumped out of of the bushes behind us. At first, I thought I saw See Teng, my sister's friend and my senior and my friend all the same. I was so shocked!! How could SEE TENG of all people suddenly appear in Singapore??

But then, it's Ee Leng, with her Rubik's Cube, and her pig FisherFocker!! I know it's a weird name. She kind of got it from the movie Meet The Fockers (I think), and because, at home, we used to scold FISH instead of FUCK (now we scold FEEK :P). Why?? Because we're at home mah. If our parents heard us, we'd probably be shooed out of the house.

We went to Swensen's at Junction 8 (I think) for lunch after we met up with Ee Leng and "broke up" with my sixth aunt and her family. They were going to live with my other cousin Celine.

Swensen's = Yummy!!!
Yummy!! = Fat + Calories.

Oh shit.

Sheesh.

I don't care.

I DON'T CARE!!!!

=P

*

Yummy hot fries, with two choices of sauces. My auntie said the white one was mayonnaise and the red one was salsa. I like the cone!! :)

I ordered a Mega Burger.

*burps*

I think I won't order a Mega Burger or any huge burger ever in my life again. Not so soon, anyway. Nice as it is, I nearly puked after I ate it. It was SO damn huge!! And it's hard to eat, because it's so big. I have to cut it into pieces instead of eating it like a normal burger. And it's so thick!!

There's fried egg, fried bacon, beef, veggies, ham, cheese, and lots of things you don't find in a normal burger.

*drools*

Yum.

And it contains thousands of calories.

Yay!!!!!

*

After we had a quick shower, we went to Celine's house. It was really messy compared to Ee Leng's house!! Probably because there are two kids there.

Okay, not really KIDS. The oldest one is 11 years old. I guess he isn't a kid anymore, right??

Celine was out at that time, so we walked to the Bukit Panjang Mall, which was very near. But we only went there for like a few minutes, then we went to visit my eldest brother at his university hostel.

It was so funny!!

My brother's hostel name was supposed to be Prince George's Park (at least, I think so). My uncle was driving, and he doesn't know where the hostel is, so he asked a girl who was walking by. He asked :"May I know where is King George's Park??"

King George's. Mwahahah. xD

Don't tell me you don't see a difference.

Anyway, after that, we had dinner at a hawker place. Personally, I hate food courts, especially those dirty ones. Even though the food may be nice, I still hate dirty places (except for my dirty belongings =P) Though I have to say Singapore hawker food courts are way cleaner than the ones in Penang.

Look!! The toilet is done in pink and peach!! So nice. Compared to the ones here anyway. The ones here . . . uggh. Cement. Grey and wet. Slimy. Grimy. Filthy. A list long of words that can describe the public toilets here.

=)

The dinner was actually not very nice. One thing : Penang's hawker food are definitely better than the ones in Singapore.

After that, we went to Orchard Road to get a free ride on the Hippo Bus as a tourist. Ee Leng, Celine and her two sons went on too, although they aren't tourists. Shhhhh.

We sat on the "open-aired" double decker. The whole Orchard Road is so gorgeous!! Pretty Christmas lights and decorations everywhere. Penang . . . okay. Why compare when I already know the answer?? I have to stop comparing. =P

Even the bus was decorated with cute Christmas ornaments.

See the big Christmas tree in the last picture?? They're all so pretty and . . . "Christmassy" right?? All the photos are quite blur because the bus was moving.

After the Hippo ride, my sixth aunt went back home to Celine's house, and we went to the Heeren. Our purpose of going there is to go to the Action City shop.

My brother brought home lots of the cutest pigs ever from Action City. They're so damn cute lah!! I love them. We have . . . hmm, at least 7 or 8 Ashley The Runaway Pigs at home.

Ashley The Runaway Pigs!!! I ♥ them. Pity most of the Action City shops we went to later on didn't sell them anymore. =(

Ee Leng bought an Ashley in the first picture, and named it Ooshler, and changed it to Achmed later on. She got the name from Achmed the Dead Terrorist, Jeff Dunham's cute puppet!!

I already have two of that Ashleys at home, and that's quite enough!! Though I'm super tempted to buy every one of them (the pink ones anyway, the others aren't that cute) because they look so forlorn and . . . "unwanted" there!! =(

I bought a present for Lee Mei at the Action City. It's a cute blue dolphin!! There's one in pink, but I doubt that she'll like the one in pink.

We went home after that, and so ends our second day in Singapore!!

:D

Lunch time!! By the look of it, something disgusting. Uggh.

Toodles!!

Part 3 sometime.
